At the age of eight, Mike Smith was fascinated by the art of magic and illusion. A few years down the line he was inspired by David Nixon, who was at the time a house hold name in magic. Mike started to perfect his craft with close-up magic and went on to develop his own unique style and personality. A few more years later, he started studying psychological mind magic after seeing the great Chan Canasta.

By the late seventies Mike was an accomplished close-up magician and mind reader. Present day Mike travels all over Europe and the UK performing  and he is also a creator of magic and is still perfecting the art to the highest level.

Being a skilled specialist he has become an award winning close-up magician and cabaret artist. Since 1990 Mike Smith has won several trophies in competitions, which has earned him the respect of his peers.

He has worked with some of the top names in show business. These include : Sir Norman Wisdom, Ronnie Corbett, Frankie Vaughan, Bert Weedon, Jess Conrad, Brian connelly, June Brown and Wendy Richard's to name but a few.

Mike has also performed for Sir John Mill's, Sir David Frost, Felicity kendall, Bab's and Robert Powell, Judith Chalmers, Dennis Bergkamp, Nicholas Parsons and Alan Titchmarsh. Mike has worked for Gordon Ramsay since 2002 in his restaurant chain and up till recently has  performed regularly for Simon Drake from the secret cabaret. He has performed at St James Palace on several occasions for the Water Rats and at Buckingham Palace in the presence of members of the Royal family.
